I think I've just seen one of the greatest masterpieces of sexism in my entire life. And I've seen a lot of weird porn.

I love romance animes, particularly the "harem" sub-genre. (In short: a show that revolves around some loser who somehow gets himself into a situation where he's living with multiple attractive female characters. Notable examples are Ah! My Goddess, Ai Yori Aoshi, and Love Hina.) As a misogynist myself, I love watching shows with improbable Japanese female stereotypes that betray a complete and total lack of understanding of women. There is no purer teenage male fantasy than an anime harem show. I've watched hours and hours.

I think I just saw the ultimate masterpiece. It's called "Akikan!".

Consider the premise of the first episode.

A rare phenomenon under investigation by the government: pop cans mysteriously transform into girls when you drink from them. One such can falls into the hands of a sixteen-year old boy who laments his virginity before taking a swig. He is astonished to find himself kissing a pretty little thing. Naturally, she now has to live with him. But when she gets too whiny and annoying, he can tug on the pop tab on her ear, and she transforms back into a can, whereupon he can shove her in a closet. Of course, she can continue to nag him telepathically, especially to beg him to drink her, because it was what she was made to do. But if he lets the pop go flat, he must perform CPR on her by breathing into her and recarbonating her, thus saving her life and making her forever indebted to him. She has mixed feelings about this, because she was meant to be drunk and then thrown away in the trash to be recycled.

The plot summary promises that there will be many more characters to be introduced as he drinks more pop.

I really think you just have to watch it to appreciate it. I mean, the nuance. It's brilliant. Is it the worst sexism you've ever seen, or just the most misguided environmentalism? "Consider these poor pop cans… you break their hearts whenever you throw them away… let's personify them as pretty girls to help you to understand."

I found myself repeatedly saying aloud, "This is the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life," and when he actually puts her in a closet, I was speechless aside from "oh ho ho ho!…omg… you actually went there".

I am really looking forward to watching the rest of it.
